River of Sin
By Shadox
Crystal waters lapping softly, Cold steel paves the way above, Allowing traffic to pass, And a man to stand, Gazing into the abyss. His mind unfocused, scattered, Rampant with chaos and anguish, Yet, a glint of intent sparkles in his eyes. He percieves naught but the world around him, Focused on his goal. "The world is dark today", he thinks His eyes lower to the world below, Hands clutching the lifeline, Coarse against his fingers, "But the light awaits". The birds stop chirping, The traffic has stopped, The river remains still. The sun has stopped shining, Covering the land in darkness. Amidst the frantic chaos, Lies panic and helplessness, He becomes victim to himself, And takes the final step, The line draws taut, securing his fate. Nature has drawn silent, He swings in darkness above the abyss, Drops of heaven come crashing down, Spilling his sins into the river, The circle is complete.
