Downhill From Here

By Shane

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Finally I am free, from what Imprisoned me The state of mind, that I’ve left behind I’ve been walking up a hill, But now I’m coming down I’m as happy as a dilusionary pill I’ll spread it all around I don’t know how or why But I ran from happiness And now it’s found me Sitting scared, wishing fooled, I’m waiting Just anticipating, the return of my depression But no one here is evil, at least that’s my impression In a world of beauty not even pointless evils have me hating It’s all downhill now, but in a good way And I’ll take it all, at my own pace My  delightful feeling, I’ll say it all, until there’s none to say Now I’m free and the world is mine to love, and my face My face shows me a younger man A man who knows this is his time I won’t deny my reflection Though it’s not entire perfection… I take a little look and then… Realise It’s mine now Though the world may fall part again I’ll still be happy somehow Worlds and hearts may fall apart But I’ll be mine I’ll still be mine Until it stops my heart Written April 11th, 2002 © on Apr 11 2002 08:25 AM PST   10 • 0
