The World Is My War!
By Shane
It was the beginning of the day, Or the end of the night? I know this time, That I’ll get it right Sitting here in the darkness Wiping sun from my head Let the light be my harness Until I am dead - until I die - eternal darkness From temporary light to eternal darkness My frustration lights my furnace I’m just about to go and find the things that should be mine Half a hundred dollars, And a non-sadistic mind Looking to the left of me and seeing only frames Of the pictures that life gave to me, and now take them back I gotta get off this roller coaster, Put my life back on track Looking to the right of me and all I see is black, But nothing seems the same Looking right in front of me and nothing seems to change, Take a look behind me and everything’s the same, Seems as though they’ve got no reason to try and make a change Now I look ahead of me, I’m seeing only fear And shadows of what’s left behind show me pain Really gotta try this time to get my life in gear The horror of reality and nothing seems the same I rise so high, I’ve got so far to fall Fall to ground, gravity tears me down Spinning around in the whirlpool I have found Equality, independently with poverty and misery, Money to please men in medical suits Spread disease with their chemical fruits Children dying on the streets at seven, No place for them in gods heaven Smile when you think of it, ‘Cos it’s not you Take a look again and your through Memories of the future, a silent past A wounded creature, who’s pain will last Take a look through a blind mans eye, And take a walk through a good mans mind Look closely you’ll be surprised With the madness that you find Running from time, Awake in your prime Keep running away to a better place, Running away to a better day But one thing remains the same Cheat on death Cos life’s a game Hide from time that won’t go away Beating the clock, Taken in your prime Beating the clock, Taken in mineThis is another very old poem, which is very random in terms of content.
