Too Late (Coming Home)

By Shane

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I said I’d leave you But I’m coming back A life alone I know I’ve wasted mine I only love the past And that’s where I will stay For the rest of my years And all from this day Slowly I journey to see you again Inside I’m yearning to be me again The oceans are turning as day passes day Aged I’m learning and faithful I pray The full moon is looking For friends it can’t find An old man I see it It’s feelings like mine Soon I will return I hope all is well I rescued myself And maybe you as well Back at the door But your not waving this time Nobody’s home and the light isn’t on Sadness I feel as I left you too long On my way back I’m wandering why My sorrow grows bigger within’ my mind I only had to try, and not lie to myself I feel on the inside, I wish you hadn’t died Written March 20th, 2002 © on Mar 20 2002 02:39 AM PST   10 • 0
