Silence Is Deadly
Silence is deadly And deadlier still When the one you love Is silent to you Your heart begs for them To speak some word of promise But all you get is a quiet, Cold, And hardening stare How could someone you love, Be so vain? Silence is deadly And deadlier still When a mother gives birth But doesn’t hear her baby cry A life awaited so long Could be ended so short A new mothers worry If her child is still there She looks about for answers But is given sceptical glances Not one with a certain meaning Her questions, remain Silence is deadly And deadlier still When you call out for help But no one appears Some cannot hear you Some do not care And so you’re left alone to suffer And wallow in fear Silence is deadly And deadlier still When you turn to hug someone And the air is thin There’s no one there to hold you No one to comfort at all And you’re left shivering in the cold, Lonely, darkness Your eyes well up with tears And you open your mouth to speak But there’s no one there All that comes out is silence And your heart dies within Silence is deadly And deadlier still When you realize you’re alone Don’t let the silence devour you.I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this... It just.. popped in my head and I wrote it. Though I'm not crazy about the ending but don't know how else to go about it. *Shrugs* Oh well.
