I Am The Knight
By sidewinder
For those of you who don't understand fully the effect of wonder, Or perhaps won't look at fantasy, Please look at the words of others that do, So that when you want to change the way you look at an outcome in your life that was bad and make it into something good, If what you just read makes no sense to you, Put this work down, Make some toast, Go about your life and pick it up when you do... If you do. I am the knight, Look to me when you need to walk in someone's shoes, I am the knight, Look to the stars shining in my armor and wonder how they got there, I am the knight, And so are you, Look to yourself to find what is true, I am the knight, I take the road that's hard, I am the knight, And thoughts that are forsaken are my song, At night that lulls my soul to sleep, Through the bleak thoughts of other's lost in the shadows, Varied through those seasons held only by the promise that we keep, Rage... Rage... least with thy hope, I will never forget those epics revealed in the magic of the sun, Hero some call me, But I do.... What I must do, Honor remains in a repast and we will be heard and seen in the twilight, Riding with banners high for those who came before and those yet to come, Will you keep the dream alive and forget not the wonder? To touch those stars far beyond reality and those dreams where chivalry touches those realms forever met in honor, And if you can see what it means than the promise reveals more than what some can see, Celebrate those dreams beyond Camelot, forever touched in passion when days were clean, Nights were safe and people true, Look to yourself, Find out who you are, where you fit, Because knights are who finish it, Bring my soul to arms so that my rage forever touches beyond a dragon's heart mired with passion fervent in a miracle held by a code serenaded in the song of a bard, The children's eyes... of faeries and love of nature, Dragons and thoughts of honor and pride, Thoughts of knights and compassion and mercy, Know that when you live in the world of monsters, Concrete and iron, Remember I am the knight, I am you neighbor, I am that one riding next to you on a bus, Sharing your roads, Living in your world, There Will always be someone like me, I am the knight, And before you forsake fantasy for fact, Remember I'm always at your back.
