Taking Things Too Seriously

By sidewinder

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Razor edged tongue fraying on my mind, In the background I hear swing music, Relax...                       I tell myself, Don't let life's ups and downs get to you, Smile once in a while, Laugh if you have too...                             Too much of the time we take things too seriously, Forgetting that which we all can enjoy,               Those dreams that keep us young,                                             Looking into the light instead of the shadow,                              Where it all makes sense, Could it be...                  only an illusion? Or does freedom, love and the good things                                         hold its hand... just out of reach? Oct. 9, 2000 Written January 23rd, 2002 © on Jan 23 2002 07:07 AM PST, Billy E.
