The Honor
By sidewinder
A boy in trouble with three bullies, Asking for help, Yet no one wanted to get involved, Why ? No answer really, But in spite of that an old man rescued the boy and chased the bullies away, When the man came back to the boy, The boy asked out of curiosity the man, Why? The man replied, When I was a boy I was trapped in a river, A stranger rescued me, I would have died if he hadn't helped me, I asked the same question, I was told to help ten strangers, Until the debt was paid I was responsible, Now that I've helped you, You are part of that debt that I owed, And if you wish take this honor which I bestow upon you and help ten more strangers, Maybe... Just maybe.... the goodness will go on. Nov. 13, 1984 Written January 11th, 2002 © on Jan 11 2002 04:12 AM PST, Billy E. Whitehorn 0 • 4
