Touched By Four Walls
By sidewinder
Touched by four walls, Pain is in the eyes of my neighbor, Only a pad & blanket is his cover, I can see the loneliness as he breaths, Wanting to get out, yet... having to wait on the judge, Guard! Guard! I need bath, Somehow it falls on deaf ears, Only but why? The light serenades the sleep that he is wanting, For the darkness that he needs somehow is lost, And another night creeps along, Sleep only comes & goes, He thinks... Why am I here? Society insists that he must pay his dues, Still... Why must cruelty smile forever in dreams? Somehow he must survive, And the song that he sings seems his only friend.
