Two Sides Of Myself
By sidewinder
Dark within that soul, My eyes filled with rage, Cruel curiosity, A heart willing to fight, No quarter given, No quarter asked, Serrated like the edge of a knife, I can taste the blood of my opponent, In that I feel a need to feel his pain, Excitement touches... Cold emotion creeps in my mind, No fear is felt, I snarl like a panther on the prowl, Slowly I look for my prey, The fool underestimates me, Before he knows it the fight is over, I smile... for within my sight a green eyed vision of loveliness rushed to my aid asking me if I'm hurt, No! I reply, But let's get out of here before trouble continues! We take off, The night has just begun, The moon smiles at the two of us for romance could be in the air, I smell her perfume and my heart is racing, Let's find a place to go dancing! Sure! she says, I know of a blues place that we could dance cheek to cheek, I'm game! I reply, And a miracle of love has just begun, We drop in just as the music begins, They are playing Stevie Ray Vaughn's old music, Perfect! I say in the back of my mind, The night couldn't be any better, Sometimes doing things unplanned just sets the tone right and we have the rest of our lives together, the band plays a slow song and in her eyes I can see the rhythm of her heart, For there she is in the warmth of my arms as we enjoy the night for the rhythm of our souls touch and complete each other.
