What Will Come

By sidewinder

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Some will look at our lives and wonder what type of life did they live? We can tell them much, A full and dangerous one, Especially with the wars of Korea, Vietnam & Desert Storm, Some that will testify that we didn't belong there, Some will reveal that we did, Because if we didn't speak up, No one would, Some will remember civil rights and how hard we fought for them, Some will remember the political disputes Watergate, Koreagate and The Clinton Scandal, Some will say who cares? Some will remember the coming of rock & roll, Some will want to forget disco, rapp & heavy metal, Was that music? Some will remember the fall of the Soviet Union & the toppling of The Berlin Wall, Some will remember the horror of Aids, Some will remember the first pictures of Mars, Is there life out there? Some will remember the movies of Star Wars, Star Trek & 2001 and 2002 Space Odyssey, Some will say I'd rather watch football, Some will say why watch T.V. at all? What other wonders will come? Let's all wait, take our time and see. Aug. 20, 2000 Written December 26th, 2001 © on Dec 26 2001 05:09 AM PST, Billy E. Whitehorn    0 • 11
