Gift of Love
By Silver Angel
The sun was so in love with the moon But the moon was miles and miles away Each day the sun rose Knowing he could not touch his love But still he would smile on the outside Casting his rays to her for all to see For in his heart he knew the moon felt the same The moon was very much in love with the sun But her beams had to travel miles and miles Each night she rose in just enough time To see her beloved lay down to rest And even though she knew in her heart That being together was just a dream It didn't dull the smile on her face For she knew in her heart the sun felt the same One day the sun no longer wanted to live Knowing he would never be able to kiss his love He knew that he could never hold her in his arms For he was born a sun and she born a moon They were far to different from each other The moon saw her sun's rays were not as bright She saw him let the rain take over their world She knew in her heart he was planning to depart She called out to him, Sun.. my love Please don't leave me this way I can not live, not one day without you The sun looked to his love and cried But how can we ever be one, you are so far away The moon thought and thought, then all at once She began to glow, brighter and brighter she became Until tiny sparkling orbs burst from her heart The orbs filled the sky with rainbows of light The sun looked at her in awe He had never before seen a love so strong Could it be he loved her even more Once the orbs had all found a place in the sky She whispered to the sun, I love you Now when you want to touch me Just reach out and shine your light When you can't see me, touch these stars And they will bring your love to me When I can't lay my eyes on your shining face I'll send a smile to you through these glittering orbs No matter where you travel Or how far apart we may become We will always be one, forever joined by the stars Written October 30th, 2001 © on Oct 30 2001 01:27 AM PST 0 • 8
