The Wait Is Over
By Silver Angel
He has been waiting a long, long time Life on earth has been a joyous one for him But that light at the end of the tunnel is so bright Surely his wife and family will understand, right? His bones are brittle and his eyes refuse to see What little hair he last left is grey, no...silvery He stayed as long as he possibly could It's time to go, he knows he should Saying one last prayer, he slumps his shoulders Good-bye my wife, my sons and daughters I see fields of rainbows where angels hover It's time to go, the wait is overThis poem is dedicated to a very dear friend of my family who was suffering with black lung. He rests in peace now. Written October 19th, 2001 © on Oct 19 2001 12:42 AM PST 0 • 1
