I guess being human just isn't enough, But I would like you to show me a hero. You can't can you? A hero is someone, Who fights alone in the darkness, To bring hope were there was none before. Hero's often times, Don't succeed, But they always die trying. The work they begin, Is carried on by others, Who sometimes steal the fame. Hero's die, Either very old or very young, There is no inbetween. There is not a place in this world, That hope hasn't touched. So if you know a hero, I guess they were just a child, Born out of time. You look at the men, On the old motorcycles, With greasy long beards, Who drink beer, With pictures of naked wimon, On their walls. Like hero's they too, Were just born out of time. The wise men, And demons, The evil and the good, All simply born out of time. Who does belong, In this day and age? No one. We long for more, And cry in the end, Because like the heroes, We were born out of time. Written December 22nd, 2001 © on Dec 22 2001 01:51 AM PST 0 • 1
