Illusions
By SkyRider
Illusions She thinks that she's the love of my life, and I let that fantasy grow It helps me believe I'm more than I am but someday the truth she will know. She knew from the start she wasn't the one~ my true partner is waiting for me My wife knows I need this additional "love" and knows that our future is WE. This lover I use just uses me back. Her fantasy keeps her in smiles. But someday her tears will flow like the rain And I'll be crossing the miles. Don't cry for her when it's over and done, She loved every lie that I told. These lovers don't last, they're a thing of the past But they sure make me feel oh, so bold. I'm on to the next, another bright smile will surely be waiting for me I'll begin once again to weave and to spin all the love words that will set her free. And what of the past? The ones that I've left? They all have such good memories. I've done my job well, truth is to tell I'm only here to please. Written April 8th, 2002 © on Apr 08 2002 06:36 AM PST 0 • 8
