“Brand new addiction” She was tragically hip, with a over sized chip on her shoulder She was only 18, but she looked so much older Wasted her mind, trying to find unattainable happiness Got into a few rides, she lived through them all Oh but sooner or later, sooner or later she has to fall (Chorus) She’s got a, Brand new addiction Just wants to go down in history Rather than autobiography fiction Looking for a perfect grain of sand Getting out of hand, Brand new addiction She said life was full of ups and downs Yellow smiley faces, and unhappy clowns She made bigger than it was, Cause she can’t remember Through all the fun, all the fog and all the fuzz She’s mellow dramatic in a stereo and static type of way, But sooner or later, sooner or later she has to pay (Chorus) She’s got a, Brand new addiction Just wants to go down in history Rather than autobiography fiction Looking for a perfect grain of sand Getting out of hand, Brand new addiction She’s got to find a fix, for the glitch in her matrix It doesn’t matter where it’s coming from As long as you’re getting some from every pot The best in the bunch goes sour in the lot Sooner or later, one of you is going to hate her And have to find another, Brand new addictionThis is kind of based on several life experiences... But the "her" in the story isn't me. It's actually several people, that just kind of- fit together. It's poppy, I know. But what can I say? Sometimes I'm just like that.
