Death
By Slicks78
In sick they slumber Death hiding in dark corners to claim them Calculating it's numbers, who will it take first? It's not blood, nor hate, nor pain does it thrist But for souls, taken whole, taken by parts It does not account for lost, lonely hearts When loved ones are gone, we hope, they will move on To heaven, and light, never to see Another painful night Death, it hides in the back of your head Am I the only one, who wonders... When, will I be dead? No one knows, when they will be lead Down the path, where death awaits At those dark, evil gates Death, it's black claws like a little sharp blades Will draw forth your soul Did you die from, Cancer, Cocaine, Aids? Or perhaps you were old Your grip on life, grown sallow and cold Breathe in, Breathe out Are shadows on your wall being cast? It could be death awaiting you The next breath could be your lastA bit dark I know. But, I just got to thinking while looking at a shadow on my wall(yes a shadow). How quickly life begins, and ends. No one knows when they are going to die, perhaps we have silly numbers and predictions. But does anyone really know when their last breath, is their last?
