Scales
By Slicks78
Some of my best friends have scales Forked tounges, sticky tounges, long tounges People tend to think they are slimy, and cold Like slugs, or snails But they are smooth like silk They don't talk too much, but always Friendly, in a greeting touch Some of my best friends, Have 180 eyes And I know it's love, if they look at me With both of them clearly People always looked at me Like I was alittle off my rocker Put a cricket on my nose Watch that as that long tounge goes What a shocker! You couldn't really tell from my outer shell The things I have in my house, or refridgerator Snakes, lizards, frogs, newts are household guests There's always the odd mouse or two In the fridge, in loo of feeding time I've lost a few human friends along the line Gained a few, who thought I was cool Think twice, when you see a friend with scales Perhaps, think of me. ...No I do not have scales! What do think I am? A freak? ...Ok so maybe a little But scales don't mean Satan Nor does it mean their owners Are quite keen on black So if you do not like scales, Just go away I'd rather have my scale-ish friends Any day!...Odd, I know. But truth is, I am odd. I've made a ref to my reptilian friends in poems before. Read them, you might find which ones I mean. People usually get the wrong message when they see my animals. Think perhaps I am goth, or a devil worshiper. But nothing is farther from the truth. Tell me what you think. Not typical of me, but I am in a strange mood tonight!
