We've Grown
By Slicks78
“We’ve grown” Looking back at pictures of yesterday Just another faded memory Wish we could go back, Can almost reach it, But it’s too far away Faces disappear, the three of us Used to be so near And when I think of those days I shed more than one lonely tear (Chorus) We’ve grown up We’ve grown apart Though try not to think about it Cause your still in my heart We’ve grown up, we’ve grown apart We talk on the phone, I still feel alone You’re not the boy I knew The man in you shines through You write me nightly wasn’t till Last week, I learned of the love For me, that you didn’t speak We try to stop from changing Our lives are constantly rearranging (Chorus) We’ve grown up We’ve grown apart Though try not to think about it Cause your still in my heart We’ve grown up, we’ve grown apart I don’t know if I like the things I liked yesterday We try to grasp memories that threaten to fade away I didn’t mean to cut you from the frame I feel for our broken friendship, I’m to blame Time to face it, if we don’t time will replace it We’re grown…I actually started writting this song 3 months ago. While looking a picture of myself and two male friends that was taken two years ago(Before I moved away). After I wrote some of it, I just got stuck. it didn't seem like the right time. I finished it last night. Hope you understand the whole thing. It's generally a song about realizing people grow, people change. I'm not the person I was 2 years ago, 3 months ago, or even yesterday. ..Ok wow that was a long explanation. Written January 14th, 2002 © on Jan 14 2002 02:24 PM PST, Sharon 20 • 0 • 10
