Was it glory I went seeking?
By Sorrows
Heh. Sappysappysappy. It's set a long time ago, about a soldier who had a kinda crummy relationship with his wife. But he missed her alot while he was at battle, so said screw it and went home. Ehhh.. Don't ask me how he managed that. He just *did*. XD Was It Glory I Went Seeking? Was it glory that I went seeking when I ventured through the door Now I’ve come to think my claim is not as honest as before For battle wasn’t what I sought Though that I did declare And ever my mind left the war and you I pictured there Your warm smile came to haunt me As the foul armies clashed And I lay down my mighty sword And rode into the past The cottage still stood lonely Waves lapping at the shore I said a prayer and held my breath and knocked upon the door Somehow you were waiting and pushed the door ajar inside I was welcomed for I had traveled far I did not bring home glory But in my heart I knew Dishonor was the price to pay To unearth my love for you Written April 21st, 2002 © on Apr 20 2002 04:38 PM PST 0 • 10
