Elusive (Overgrown Lies)

By Spoot

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

How elusive your love is. Elusive like the wind, and dandelion seeds spread to the breeze. Elusive like sand held in a child's tightly cupped hands. Elusive like the water strained through golden rays of sunlight. You keep running away leaving me with no stigma your love trailing behind you like a camoflauged string through overgrown grass I try to catch it so I can keep you close to me but each time I grasp my fingers close on weeds grown large and complex like your childish lies. Please stop running let me hold onto your love like a cherished relic holy to my being I promise I won't hold too tight confining your freedom I promise I won't keep you too close I'll give you free reign just let me find your love if it still exists in this overgrown entanglement of little white lies grown into tall, dark tales that you add on to until nobody remembers the truth. How elusive you are.I'm not particularly sure what I think of this one... I wasn't really paying attention when I set it down, I just wrote it.
