Eyes Behind the Glass

I am the eyes of the reflection and all the world is a movie from behind the glass I see the corner she hides her tears from the tears she drops I reflect the grimace of pain in my world I am many and all I am the silent sentinel I am the eyes of the reflection all I can do is sit and stare always to wonder what she's thinking left to watch her tortured sleep shining from the broken glass the tribute to her living nightmare I lay scattered about the house I am the eyes of the reflection burning bright in a twinkle of light returning in a gaze back at me watching from the water's surface knowing she's run so far away and in the drops of rain I glorify her newfound grin I am the eyes of the reflection and so my vision never ends mirroring her midnight image the nightmares have not gone in the glass I watch helplessly a lonely tear glowing in the darkness life never seems to be easy I am the eyes of the reflection rippling the water with the passage of time she's learned from all the struggle only to harden her heart mirroring coldly from the black marble the proof of her success in the tears of innocent strangers I reflect her uncaring back I am the eyes of the reflection with unfamiliar eyes returning gaze greedy hearts have influenced her so unphased I watch a fist shatter the glass she despises what she's become for I show only what she truely is I am the eyes of the reflection flashing brightly for a great family reunion silently I morn from the picture frame she's lived her life fully from my place her smile is brilliant in her end she's surrounded by friends and in death I watch her no more Written January 15th, 2002 © on Jan 15 2002 01:07 PM PST    0 • 10
