i hold your eyes prisoner (a challenge poem)
By StaryEyed1
Challenge Description: Write about being trapped in a small, dark enclosed space. I want to feel the desperation and fear! Weather you write about a physical confinement or a mental one is up to you. Try to create the image and emotion I have described, but you DO NOT have to use the exact words. I DO want you to add the word prisoner in either the title and/or the body of your poem. Have fun and good luck! (45 points) Images: 'Gray haze within the blackness' Emotions: 'despairing solitude' --------------------------------------------- awake i've become sanity i've been losing no matter how many times i try to open my eyes i forever see this inky blackness its sounds have been assaulting me continually louder and louder as never before its smell overwhelms my mind preventing recognition and i cry out for the light the white sweet brightness to shine upon my world i scream and claw for the end to this endless night they all hear my pain every wall has felt my craze and yet they refuse to offer help i've since lost all track of time this voice has been screaming for all of eternity my lungs can no longer handle this collapsing in, falling down suspended in the midst of a starless galaxy i've been captured in this shroud of blindness Written January 16th, 2002 © on Jan 16 2002 11:47 AM PST 0 • 1
