I Wonder
By steele
As you look at me, I wonder: Do you know? That inside my heart a thing of beauty grows? I am the one who longs for your tender embrace, Or merely the sight of your beautiful face. As you look at me, I wonder: Can you not see? The man I am becoming, who longs for us to be? I have passed the tests that life has put me through, No flying colors, but the man who's been forged is true. As you look at me, I wonder: What else can I do? I am devoted to one, no other choice for me, only you. Freely I have made this choice, aware of most, still There's more to life than laughter, but I did, I do, I will. As you look at me, I wonder: Can I love you more? The answer is plainer each day, as has never been before. Each day amazed, for as much as I loved you ere I slept, Upon waking, my love for you is new and even greater yet. As you look at me, I wonder: Will you ever ask me? I have made my case, I have wooed you and I have given me. The promises I have made, to love, to honor, to cherish; Are not made lightly, but in hope you will grant my wish. As you look at me, I wonder: How do I prove my love? That this feeling we share is a gift from God above? All that I am is yours to have and hold for now and always. I will prove my love by living it until the end of my days. Written October 14th, 2001 © on Oct 14 2001 05:48 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
