the drunk
By SubwayBoi
He drank a lot and slept around, With any two pence whore. Sometimes he did some opium, And passed out on the floor. He left his wife alone to raise Their two delightful boys. He went into the city's core, To find some new play toys. He wrote a bit and scribbled down, Ideas for some plays. He wrote all through the darkened night, And slept away the days. His friends suggested that he add Some things like whores and dogs To plays he wrote and then performed In all the local bars. When people watched his plays performed They often bought a whore. They didn't mean to be so rude, But his plays were a bore. The Queen commanded plays from him And why? We'll never know. She seemed to have a thing for him And went to all his shows. Who was this man so poorly versed With humour, love, and fear? This lazy ass who drank too much, We know as Will Shakespeare. Written December 20th, 2001 © on Dec 20 2001 02:41 AM PST 0 • 14
