A Friend is a Friend

A friend is someone who will be there, Not somebody who leaves when it gets rough, It is easy to be a friend when all is well, it is when the going gets tough that is a test, I had a friend once who was moving to Cali. Another friend is now mad at her for not talking, That is how I feel, My friend left me Alone in the middle of a discussion. I don't want to fight, she said Well if talking is fighting to her, I dont know what to do. I am a friend who needs to talk FRIENDS HAVE TO TALK TO EACH OTHER work things out, The reason I wanted to talk was so I WOULDN'T be mad Now I am more mad at the fact she left than what we were talking about. As for what we were talking about, I am mad because one doesn't try to justify that what she did was okay by falling back on your imperfections changing the subject to glorify yourself I ask you now, is that a friend? Did I do my part to atleast tell you I was upset? Did I not listen to you gripe about me When what I had started was for you to listen Do I not listen to you complain about everything? When do I get listened to? Has it come down to me putting a poem online For you to listen to everything I have to say? Now I ask you is that a good friend? I understand that nobody is perfect, I am included in that, however you have to try I try, I feel like that is all I ever do And this is how I get treated... It figuresIn addition to all I have said here, I just want one person to know that I was going to blow off my friend so that I could spend time with YOU.
