Someone's Watching
I come here almost every day To sit from a distance and watch you play Your golden hair shining in the sun An angels face you have my son I was so young when you were born Not able to take care of you myself They said" Put him up for adoption really girl its your only option" After 20 long hours of labor pains A miracle happen and out you came Then they took you away before I could see What a wonderful gift God had given me I went to the nursery and peeked at you My precious little boy bundled in blue A birthmark gave the secret away its true Mine on the same hand told me it was you I stood for hours there by the glass Would this horrible feeling ever pass? But I was only 15 and what did I know? You needed two parents to help you grow Now 5 long years have come and gone Walking in the park one day,I chanced to see A boy with a birthmark just like me My heart almost stopped could it be? You looked the right age and had my smile Can you be my sweet lost child? With every day that passed I almost see That no one else could this possibly be Now I come every day for a maybe chance to see A little boy who means the world to me Given away at birth, but always loved so much Watching,Waiting but never to touch, Would I ever tell you who I am? Be so bold? No, your someones elses adorable angel to hold All I get are these sacred moments of view That I will cherish forever, because I love youI wrote this for a wonderful friend of mine who gave her son up at birth but never found him..
