The Ultimate Crime He floated safely in her the warm womb Then pushed out to the bright lights But his first screams were for the bitter cold As he lay on dirty rags, on the floor of the room This was no delivery room, safe in a hospital But a gas station, where she went into labor She hid this pregnancy from all she knew Why was she getting fat? That was the riddle The boy responsible was no where to be found Nine months she carried this burden alone Now it was over the pain almost gone Never noticing the baby, for he made no sound She grabbed up old newspapers laying around Her mind was on concealment.no conscious was found Not looking at the bundle, as she wrapped it tight Leaving nothing behind, she went out into the night Her body was weak, her mind drained She walked several blocks in the pouring rain Then out of a desperate need to have it over She walked to the dumpster and opened the cover It smelled bad,but it was warmer there But would anyone hear his screams in here? To be in time to save his short life? He cried out with all his might It was hours, his strength about done A noise was heard by a woman on her run She thought: " a poor kitty stuck in the trash" Let me help him out,, for the dumper she did dash Imagine her horror as she lifted the lid Pushing rubbish aside, into the dumper she slid Gagging, crying pushing away her tears She snuggle the precious baby and held back her fears.
