Here in your arms
By swf27texas
It feels so lonely laying here in your arms. I should feel full of warmth but instead my body is shivering. There is so much love here in your arms But none of it is touching me. I should feel full of comfort But all I am filled with is fear. You were suppose to protect me, you were suppose to be there for me. When I came to that river, you said you would build me a bridge. And when I was lost, you were suppose to show me the way. But when I came to that river I had made with my tears, There wasn't a bridge to help me across And I had never learned to swim. And when I was lost, you were nowhere in sight. There wasn't a path in front or behind me. I cannot understand why you would desert me like this. So many times I thought you cared. I was so sure when I came running to you with nowhere else to go That you would comfort me and wipe away the tears. But instead you just took me into your arms Into these same old lonely arms. So I guess it is here that I will always be In the lonely arms of your world. Written October 29th, 2001 © on Oct 29 2001 02:35 AM PST 0 • 8
