The Bruise
By TangledWings
The bruise was left behind Merely a memory of the pain That first collision Hurt like hell, but the Stinging slowly subsided Now that I have this mark I will never be the same I won't be able to forget this I won't be the same person I was It won't go away It won't leave me to swim in my thoughts Because now I've been bruised and broken And I can't get over it.This poem was actually quite symbolic of a circumstance in my life.I actually was bruised in gym class the day my grandmother had a brain aneurism, and I saw that bruise as a symbol of months of pain and rehabilitation on her part,so,...this poem is for her.I love you,Nana!
