A Gift of Nature(a Challenge Poem)
Eyes have never seen the living splendour, Nor human beings ever could explain, The beauty, grandeur and vivid colour That comes alive on a warm spring morning after rain, The verdant shiny blades of grass all shiny, tickling your feet, The chirpin' of the brown robins twitering from tree to tree, Your nose breathes in the aroma of daffodils so sweet. Yes, nothing can compare to this picturesque display, Sun, warm and golden and smiling gaily As crickets in brown petticoats play the clarinet while birds sing in tune, and children play On golden blades of grass, as men sit by playing chess, In the park on this lovely Spring morning, and I sip lemondade, Praising a generous Heaven for giving us this Gift.
