Adventures in Paradise

By The Golden Pen

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Once a man found a gilded book lying on a bed of golden sand. Puzzled by its beauty, he picked it up and dusted its cover. Spellbound, this man sat on a stone, book in hand And turning the gilded pages he discovered His love story about to unfurl before his very eyes; Out of the book emerged a woman... A bit ordinary- looking yet mysteriously graceful. She smiled at him and took his hand, Leading him inside her very soul, She welcomed him into this strange but amazing land. They kissed tenderly underneath a silver moon. Under velvet royal blue star-lit skies. The wind sang a soft, romantic tune. While being romanced under a canopy lit by fire-flies, They danced cheek to cheek together Lost in each other’s mouth forever. Each day the man would turn another page of this adventure.. And he’d find her there once again.. Exploring her world with great fervor, discovering with each new chapter.. Something new and remarkable about this woman. The woman smiled back at the man in turn, Each day giving him a glimpse of her inner beauty. Scalding his heart, making his loins yearn Hungry for more of her alluring mystery.. Unable to put down this saga he’d found hidden in the sand.. He’d sit impatient turning page after gilded page to discover.. He’d finally found the answer to his destiny, lay hidden within the gilded pages as he read by the seashore... Knowing that he held his destiny clutched tightly in his hand, He opened up the book once more, As the final chapter of the book unfurled.. He delved right into paradise, Into the arms of this strange, exotic girl, Re-writing the last chapter of “Adventures in Paradise” Mary Gonzalez (c)2002 Written February 21st, 2002 © on Feb 21 2002 12:26 PM PST, Mary Aris   0 • 8
