If I Lost You

By The Golden Pen

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I was a closed door unto the world, Afraid of letting the sun seep through. Indeed I was a frightened little girl Looking at life from deep within with spectacles of blue; Slowly I lost the dream and hopes of finding True Love, Convinced that love and happiness was just a myth... I've been taken advantaged of For so many years that I had learned to build a strong tower To protect me from all this. Eons went by My spirit drunk by all the misery of life Sick of all the pain and the lie Of what true love was really all about.. I kept myself safe within my tower.. Far from the fear and self-doubt. Yet as if some miracle or cosmic destiny This man came along So bold, so lovingly sweet...patiently Singing a love song He slowly began to tear down my walls. Until I felt the sun shining on the other side and saw for the very first time The beauty of love like the sun's warm rays unleashing  its power it enveloped me like like a mantle Unveiling love's enchanting magic that very day. If I ever lost you, My Love You'd take away the energy Of Love's healing rays My spirit will be lost forever In a dungeon dreary, dark and grey! You are my Hero, the Prince that has set me free.. If I lost you my heart will wander forever Throughout eternity A lonely wanderer Still searching for a dream impossible to reach Please, sweet Prince Embrace me with your eternal love Annoint me with your kiss Convince me what true love is really made of Show me the way to true happiness and bliss... But don't you ever walk away! Mary Gonzalez (c)2002 Written January 31st, 2002 © on Jan 31 2002 09:18 AM PST, Mary Aris   0 • 8
