Once Upon a Dream

By The Golden Pen

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Often in many of my fondest dreams I've seen you there,Hovering over me like an archangel!Whispering sweet nothings in my ear.Your music echoed through my soul. And I, lingering between fantasy and reality, I felt your essence. Many a lonely night you've visited meWe danced together underneath a gilded moonAnd kissed profoundly,A sweet, passionate kiss of love..My ears heard you softly croonAn angelic song, soft as the cooing of a dove...It felt so wonderful..So surreal...Yet it ended much too soon.Daylight kissed my face....I'd awaken To embraceAnother empty day, my body shakenBy harsh reality. My life has been an empty galaxyOf pain, despair and lonelinessYet I'd go on smiling through my days hoping that finallyMy dreams would soon come true.I'd hope To fill this empty hole inside my soulWith the sweet nectar of a love so true.In dreams you've been with meTo comfort and consoleThis very lonely heart of mine throughout my misery; You've soothed this tired soulAnd held my hand throughout the reveries...Is this a prophetic dream? Or some sweet fantasy? Can dreams become reality?I wonder..I wonder...Because today when daylight finally cameBehold!!! I awakened unto YOU!
