Out of the Rubble of 911

By The Golden Pen

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Amidst the calm, Indian summer morning, Calamity struck in less than one hour, The whole world was in mourning.. Twin brothers fell..the horror! The chaos and confusion.. The blood loss..the Terror! From within a distance the enemy rejoiced, laughing with pleasure.. Ahhhh! Victory! Defeat of America! Success!!!! The sudden thrill of death.. Blood smeared on his hands... The coward hid safe beneath the earth As millions of innocent people died in this Tragedy.. A nation stood still Everywhere brother consoling brother.. A sea of American flags furled everywhere To show the enemy That a Suicide bomber or two cannot maime or kill The spirit of brotherhood... democracy. America, like a great phoenix rises out of the ashes And lives forever! In Tribute to the victims of September 11 There lives won't be forgotten! The world will defeat the one responsible for such an act of violence! Written January 6th, 2002 © on Jan 06 2002 02:34 PM PST, Mary Aris   0 • 12
