Petals from Above
Today I was awakened by Joe, The delivery man From Daisy Florist who insistantly rang my bell. The old familiar white and yellow van Parked outside with a large array of roses, carnations and daffodils To brighten many hearts on Love's own Special Day. An outstretched hand delivered a gorgeous bouquet In a lovely display..red roses, daisies, lilies inside a pretty vase.. Exclusively for me....I was touched...more than words can ever say! I stood there puzzled in a daze To think someone loves me in such a gigantic way To send me blooming love in a gorgeous Spring bouquet. The card inside read simply: Happy St. Valentine's Day, My Love... My love, like these blossoms inside my heart grew, Fertilized each and every day by loving thoughts of you. Please care for them and water them daily As if petals from above. Mary Gonzalez (c) 2001I wrote this poem on the Eve of my first 'Real' St. Valentine's Day when the Love of My Life sent me a beautiful St. Valentine's bouquet all the way from Oxford England!
