Rush Not Swiftly Unto Love

By The Golden Pen

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Rush not swiftly unto love's prickly blade For love is a sharp two edged sword That cuts deep into one's soul Love is a potent hand grenade That can explode instantly and maim;   Rush not foolishly unto Love Less the god's be angry and irate For your irresponsible maneuver Of rushing into Love At such an alarming, senseless pace; If you do not heed my warning, You will have only yourself to blame;   Love is a mighty opiate Which is very habitual And has a potent effect upon one's brain If not cautious it can have alarming consequences And strong symptoms of withdrawal;   No! Move cautiously upon Love It is better to stop and pause When you approach Love for the first time And only when you have truly proven That Love is truly worth the wait, Endless suffering and pain.... Give your entire all To this noble and sacred cause;   Plan strategically your every move For love is not merely a simple game of chance But an intricate, strategic game That requires careful strategy;   Love is a lethal weapon That kills your joy and peace of mind Yet it can also be a panacea...a universal cure-all;   Ease gently unto Love Let it saturate your heart and soul With its stunning potion that enslaves your soul forever And captivates your psyche!
