They never had it So GOOD!
Eons ago, Our grandmothers tilled the feild While our grandfathers on their cartwheeled-ploughs Readied the soil for its yearly harvest yeild. They didn't have a telephone... They didn't have an electric stove.. Not even a measily electric mixer did they own. Yet, By Jove! They never seem to complain at all! They toiled all day way into night Churning milk into butter Our grandfathers walked miles and miles just to pump their water! The school children on their feet wore boils As they carried merrily their satchels on their backs True, there were brats back then and some children were spoiled But their teachers cracked their whips and brought them back on track. Today we live in the lap of luxury... With technology growing stronger every day Computers do our homework...easing the worries That burdened our aunts and uncles burning their brains away... Now we can communicate easily Even if far away The telephone, a modern day miracle.. United us all And the cellphone beefed up our connection by letting us talk as we travel miles and miles away. They never had it so good way back when.. Our grandparents milked the cows..by hand! Yet we continue to complain We pull our hairs on end and go stir-crazy, Like ungratful and spoiled little jerks With our every-day-to-day little luxuries That make our living easy And yet create more work!
