The Final Play

When you get the ball you ask yourself What have I done to deserve this honor Oh how any of the other millions of men Would glady give anything for this sacred chance You've choosen me.... me of all men I wont let you down I will take this ball to the goal No matter what it takes I will... not... fail... Problems arise as they always do You've expect just as much and you've prepared for them yet each one could mean the very end You break one tackle, two, now three Dance around yet a fourth, barley making it by Things are going well All thats bad is now behind. You have beaten all the odds and you still have the ball You see no one standing in the way Your steps from the goal Out of the corner of your eye You see yet one more The ball drops from your hands You fall to the ground in tears Endless moments of silence as all are watching You failed, miserably, when all looked good As you lay on the ground weaping in pain A teammate comes by to pick you up Even though there may be "next year" To hold the ball again, you dread with fear For the rest of your days One thought remains, Was that my only chance ............. ..........................(to find true love)Im still trying to finish my second poem, but got inspired to write this one just now. Not a whole lot of thought into it, just feelings. I have never liked writing, but for some reason it relives me of alot of held in emotions.
