our flaws hidden by darkness our faces masked by night the world's people left hours ago along with them, went the light im a night runner something not too many see most people like the mornings but hey, thats just not me thier alarms go off at dawn and out the door they go while im still warm in bed the sun begins to glow crowds of runners amerge the streets fill with feet they can keep the daybreak and i'll just keep my sleep ive accepted my night runner status and run with the nocturnal ghosts i run at night for me and a lot happier than most im glad to be a night runner it gives me such a thrill i imagine freddy krueger is behind me ready to kill i out run the winds of nothing and sigh with a breath of relief i slow down my pace a bit and wipe my sweat on my sleave i call the shadows my friend i think of night as a gift other runners can have the mornings for me, i'll take the night shift © on Feb 11 2002 03:27 PM PST, Sean Philip Davis 0 • 18 • 10
