Liar

I may look happy I might appear fine I may seem cheerful: But I lie Please don't beleive me. On the inside I cry. When a smile lights my face A tear drops to the floor of my hollow heart When I lock my door When there's no one around to hear I cry I may make straight A's I might have a few talents I may be looked up to: But I lie Please don't beleive me. On the inside I cry. When someone tells me I'm gifted A voice whispers I'm no good When everyone sees what I do When no one cares about who I am I cry I may be somewhat popular I might have a guy now and then I may not be the ugliest But I lie Please don't beleive me. On the inside I cry. When someone says I'm lucky I silently wish for anything but this When my laugh is empty When I pull the phone plug I cry I may put on a smile I might appear strong I may seem perfect outside: But I lie Please don't beleive me. On the inside I cry. Written February 3rd, 2002 © on Feb 03 2002 03:59 AM PST   18 • 0 • 1
