Stolen Breath (sorry, very morbid)

By trackchic337

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The world distorted and misshapen The flowers transformed to knives The sunshine melted to fire People are evolved to animals Wolves, foaming mad and ferocious Grass choked by thorns and Replaced with nails and blades The clouds mourn, their tears are blood Blue skies drink, stained scarlet The earth gapes to swallow whole The wind inhales to suck life Shadows dance to an unknown tune That of drunkenness and death Fire is devouring, fearlessly leading The blood-thirsty dance, it's author The rustle of cares melts into a wail of despair Insects infest to eat from within A blade of denial is thrust into flesh Swims in its want and desire, is plunged Into a pool of flesh to meet it's rotted target Hands are removed from the feeding Of what is only alive Knuckles white, ebony bones protruding forth To contrast themselves with the blood, black as night Your mouth is thrown open as you realize You try to scream, but silent, and only vomit answers The termites swarm and spread to your eyes And blacken out sooner What I destined to be ashes You realize those hands are your own The knife, fed and satisfied Slowly breathes in its stolen life Written February 3rd, 2002 © on Feb 03 2002 04:04 AM PST   10 • 0 • 1
