Butterflies In Gooseberry Jam
By trayseelynn
Butterflies in gooseberry jam Utterly silly girl that I am To think of a thing that makes me giggle To watch the butterfly in the jam wiggle Each flutter of his wings makes a mess Really yucky I must confess For he is stuck and can not get out Licking his wings; his tongue flapping about I realize this poor butterfly is really stuck Easing him out of the jam is real tough So I gently pick him up by his wings I clean off the jam off his legs and things Never thought he would get in over his head Golly I hope his family is fed Only if I could find them and see Only if I could make them come to me So I could make sure they weren't worried Each mintues that past; I tried to hurry Butterflies are a Fairy's best friend Every one flies on the love that they send Reach carefully to set this one free Ready to fly, he looked back at me Yet I thought I saw him say something as he flew Just a flitter of wings in a silent "thank you" Am I the only one that could understand? My little friend the butterfly that fell in the gooseberry jam? This poem reads across and up and down... if you look at the first letter of each line it says: BUTTERFLIES IN GOOSEBERRY JAM Thank you to my PPFP right hand friend for the idea... I was kinda in need of getting something or someone outa my head and needed inspiration so she just popped out with the title and I went from there! Love ya Sheery Sheer!
