You Don't Get What You See
By Treas
Cutting through the surface Sanding down as much as I can-- Just to get it perfect Not perfect–I can not stand Washing away all the dirt That’s formed up on the top Making it look better Please. .don’t make me stop Putting on the formal mask That is used to disquise No one knows me once again Because I live in all these lies No one suspects anything From this normal, popular girl That’s just what you think Because, I’m alone in this world Everyone thinks “Oh she’s just fine” Well you know, everything’s wrong In that one simple line Everything’s been wrong, forever, all along. Just because I wear a mask And no one else knows Sometimes, if you look hard enough My pain, deep down--it shows Maybe when I find a true friend That I knows going to be there in the end I’ll finally remove my mask Hopefully forever, without a question asked. But until that dream of a day This lonley old gray mask–it will stay It doesn’t really bother me I just want someone who will see I’m just who I am, And that’s the way it's going to be Just becuase I’m really not happy Changing for you, isn’t what I’ll do Remember this, I can see When I meet that someone A suprise it wont be Just be glad of who I am, and who I will be But heh, remember, you don’t get what you see.
