Eye Gazing

By Twiceborn

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Imagine my eyes And what they would be If they were all you could see If they were all of me Spherical forms, swirls of color Floating right here beside one another Searching your soul, receiving the same Searching for hope, for someone to blame Searching for peace, searching for love Searching for someone below or above Who would take them in, plumb their depths Know their strengths and why they have wept Understand their weaknesses, understand their fears Understand why they fell and wipe away the tears What would you do, if you looked in my eyes And the life that you've lived, you realized Was empty and useless, wasteful and through As if every moment you've lived was untrue Would you wallow in misery, dead to this earth Or would you die to yourself and give way to rebirth This is the question that begs to be answered When your eyes from mine are so very sequestered So open your eyes and look into mine And see what they'd be beyond space and time Written February 2nd, 2002 © on Apr 05 2002 03:29 PM PST   0 • 10
