A Soul in Lament

By Tyre

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Loneliness strikes an abandoned heart Whose passions grow cold against the night In watching the youth as they travel by Onto sweeter dreams to fulfill their delight Drained is a soul who detaches the world Whose arms stretch out unto a grain of hope For the touch of a gentle hand in response Only to find that no one is there to cope Shattered dreams now lay wasted by the shore Broken by waves of relentless oceans Embittered by a desire to remain alive Yet unforgiven am I of its notions I remain alone unto my last breath With no tears to comfort me in my death Written November 17th, 2001 © on Nov 17 2001 02:23 PM PST   10 • 0 • 1
