Beneath the Ancient Elm

By Tyre

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Enchanting passions drapes the veil of dawn As whispering winds dance across soft meadows In a distance the ancient Elms cast their shadows To soothe the chatter of waking birds now gone Smell the aroma captured in the morning dew And listen to the brooks sing their lovely song While you drift into dreams meandering along In quiet streams of beauty deep inside of you Feel the satin of dense grasses beneath your feet Coaxing you into laying down and view the sky Where fluffy clouds cross as mountains gone by Until visions of castles mark your dreams complete There you will find me with my arms opened wide Delighting much in your want for a lover's caress That we may deliver what our passions express Unto each other in the whirlwind of hunger's tide Enchanting passions, breathe life into our dreams And let our worlds reunite us in our want to be free In catering to our desires beneath the ancient Elm tree With our hearts knitted together in passion's streams Written September 28th, 2001 © on Sep 28 2001 03:55 PM PST   0 • 8
