Peaceful Mornings

By Tyre

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Quietly the night twilights into dawn While waking birds chatter their cheerful songs Dew begins to settle upon the earth With crisp air exciting senses awake The sun is rising over the mountains And life begins their morning rituals With a sense of calm delighting the soul Unto blossoms of fresh, clean aromas Down by a creek singing its melodies A fawn, playing, kneels down for a drink His mother stands near with a watchful eye Guarding against dangers lurking about In a distance stands a Tudor cottage With smoke rising through its chimney above A faint odor of breakfast now cooking Brings hunger into the picture now clear Awake and enliven, the day now begins The pace is set with its proper greetings Time to go forth with newness of life And capture the fullness offered in peace Written September 29th, 2001 © on Sep 29 2001 04:04 PM PST   0 • 10
