Drowning in Tears

Imagine this scene... At an early age of only fifteen, I felt abandoned and sunk,  Clutched between my soaked pillow  and my bed of tears. My happiness would drift ashore, As I tried to sail away, Waving on a bit of a salty breeze  But then sunk nearby from a hurricane. My eyes felt like two plunged shells Forged in the sand, Like those little glistening cups Stuck beneath the sizzling foam. Life's waves would rush over me, And my heart would roll out to sea, Blown from the roaring wind While I watched my parents dwindle. My mind would say, "don't drift out to sea" But their love washed away from me. And, even if I tried to catch it, I'd drown in nothing more or less than SALT. I cried and tried to arise from the sand, While I wished upon every star at night, But I drowned between my little pillow And my bed of tears as I sank.
