My Eulogy
By UTTubby
Here lies...my simple print laid to rest on a backdrop, like newly etchings scribed on stone, Listless until one has read. I'm resting in peace, Plastered beneath the purest white snow, Like a crow's footprints on sugar sand, Unlike the burnt grass slowly dying. I'm sheltered from the scorching heat As live oaks carefully watch over me, Like a mother's eyes laid upon her nest, Silently asleep in its crib. I'm tucked away in black, Laid upon my pillows of fluffy silk, My remains rest from pain and sorrow, Unlike a wounded deer heard in the forest. Here I lie...wrapped in a neat bundle, What once begun, now been put asunder, Worn-out script till I fade to dust Or till my beautiful snow does melt. © 2001 Dana Gallup (All rights reserved) Written November 25th, 2001 © on Nov 24 2001 03:21 PM PST 0 • 10
